Meet the Women from Masthead’s Latest Photoshoot

Masthead's latest product photoshoot

Recently we had the pleasure to meet with four extraordinary women in a photoshoot for Masthead. Although we were not surprised at how stunning these individuals looked in our products, it wasn’t until we all got together on the day of the shoot that we realized how perfectly they embody our mission! In addition to being beautiful inside and out, each model had a unique backstory that connected with ours. We are excited to shine the spotlight on each of these special women.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a 65-year-old who began a career of commercial acting and print modeling at the height of the pandemic.

What was your favorite Masthead bra? Why?

My favorite Masthead bra was the Elizabeth Pink Surgical Bra. It was very comfortable and I absolutely loved the Velcro which assists in getting a perfect fit. Also, I have a long torso, but the Elizabeth fits me very well without rising up.

What did it mean to you to participate in our photoshoot?

I was happy to be a part of the Masthead shoot. My mom died of breast cancer and it brought back memories of how frustrating it was to find bras for her. It was reassuring to see that Masthead has created comfortable products for women to help with their healing process while playing an important role in their physical and emotional recovery.

If you could describe Masthead in a few words, what would they be?

Masthead products are life-changing. They provide comfort, support and discretion, helping women to feel confident and empowered during their recovery journey.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am originally from New Hampshire but have lived up and down the east coast, and currently reside in North Carolina. I have a six year old son who is very active. We love all sports, adventures and creating memories together. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 at the age of 34 years, a time I considered to be the “healthiest” of my life. It was such a terrible process, but I believe I have been given this challenge for a purpose. In 2023 I revived my career as a therapist and now provide mental health coaching services for other survivors and for those who have been diagnosed.

What was your favorite Masthead bra? Why?

I LOVE all the bras. The Elizabeth is perfect for surgery because of the openings and holders for the drains, but the Judy Long-Line has my heart. As someone who decided to not have reconstruction, I found it very hard to find a bra that wasn’t made with cups. The Judy lays flat, doesn’t ride up, and gives that “protective hug” feeling.

What did it mean to you to participate in our photoshoot?

I was so honored to be included in this shoot, especially as a survivor. It was very empowering to show the strength that can come after this storm. I hope that women and others who look at these images see confidence, power and strength. It was so special to represent those who have made the decision to go flat, because there are not many, if any, companies that show this reality. When I was going through the decision process for my surgery I had to go searching for others who were flat to help me feel like I wasn’t alone, and that I could still be feminine and beautiful without breasts.

If you could describe Masthead in a few words, what would they be?

Compassionate, Innovative and Empowering.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a former Registered Dental Hygienist, and began modeling at age 53. I’m originally from Central Massachusetts and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren who mostly reside in New England.

What was your favorite Masthead bra? Why?

My favorite was the Estelle Recovery Bra because it was comfortable, supportive and stylish, resembling a traditional sports bra.

What did it mean to you to participate in our photoshoot?

To represent a company that is woman-founded, -owned, and -operated is such an honor. Having comfortable post surgical bras is important for recovery from breast cancer surgical procedures. Either as a part of treatment or prophylactically chosen as an option to prevent future development of the disease, women deserve state-of-the art post-surgical attire.

If you could describe Masthead in a few words, what would they be?

Masthead is in alignment with the future of women’s health and post surgical comfort allowing for peace of mind. If you’re uncomfortable it zaps your energy and your spark. Recovery energy should be used for recovery and not being uncomfortable from your post surgical attire.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am 37 years old, a breast cancer survivor and former print and commercial model, and now a new mom to a sweet little boy. After 8 reconstruction surgeries, I was already well acquainted with Masthead bras as I would wake up in them post surgery.

What was your favorite Masthead bra? Why?

My favorite one is the Elizabeth Pink Surgical Bra. It completely functions with drain holders and Velcro adjusters at the shoulders and front. It’s support and comfort in one. I will always be partial to the Elizabeth bra.

What did it mean to you to participate in our photoshoot?

It meant so much to me to be a part of Masthead shoot because to me, Masthead is synonymous with reconstruction. Reconstruction has been a long journey and to model for them felt like a very “full circle” moment for me. Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of such a meaningful shoot.

If you could describe Masthead in a few words what would they be?

Leader in surgical recovery, innovative and perfectly functional.
